Life, The Universe, and Everything...
This used to be a collection of random information and opinions.
Subject to change at any time. However, as I'm seeking new
opportunities and am teaching kids in elementary and middle school who
visit the site, I've toned it down for public consumption by those who may not
share my views. To see the political stuff, visit sites like
DailyKos, where I post as MakeChessNotWar.
I've left the T-shirt art up because many people seem to like it. If you don't
have strong progressive views, don't bother looking at it.
I remain politically active in the SF Bay Area, and most of my opinions are
strongly progressive. I am a patriotic American who wants to see the liberties
and values of our nations founders restored, replacing the evil of the Bush
administration. I believe that the entire Bush administration should be charged
with war crimes, convicted and sentenced to the maximum available penalties.
My main efforts now are for the Draft Gore movement. I serve as Press
Officer and am on the Steering Committee of
America For Gore. Recent actions in
the press:
I'm no more or less radical than the people who founded our great nation.
Just
the facts...
- Name: Eric Schiller

Arbor, London, Oahu

B. Toklas, Being There, The Party), Britannia Hospital, Life of Brian, Jackie Brown,
early
Mel Brooks (Producers, Blazing Saddles), Kurosawa, Woody Allen.
- TV: If I mention a show I like it will be
cancelled immediately, if history is any guide. So I won't.

- Drug of choice: caffeine.
2nd choice: I forget ...
- Coffee: Peet's is the ultimate source.
African Mocha Sanani the ultimate bean. Garuda Blend, top
Blend, and the "Major" also are regulars.. Other than that, I am partial to Kauaian, Molokai,
Sumatran, Celebes, New Guinea, Fogbuster and the Half Moon Bay Coffee Company's house
blend. I enjoy Tully's, too.
- The Other Ones: The past became the future,
returned to the past. Then it blew up. Now they are The Dead.
- Douglas Adams: Still
miss you. Didn't expect to outlive you.
- Fun to watch, but no fun to talk about.
- Bobby Fischer was one of the greatest chessplayers of all time,
but his mind is diseased. He is mentally ill, and we should forgive him for
his actions and comments, as they are not those of a rational human being.
He hasn't harmed anyone. Still, he did violate the law, and we shouldn't be
angry with those responsible for enforcing it. Had the boycott been not
Serbia, but South Africa in the apartheid days, many of those requesting a
pardon would think twice. Fischer has created his own problems, there is no
conspiracy against him. Let us ask for forgiveness, and hope for a plea
bargain that might lead to him getting the help he so desperately needs to
deal with his illness.
